After twelve years, Rent will close on Broadway this June. So sad. Rent is, like, the authorized biography of Block E Creative Writing 2009. Okay, it's not. But we love it anyway. It's the first musical I've ever memorized. It practically changed my views on how hokey musicals were and are and oh, that's where Idina and Taye met. Haha. Here's Wilson Jermaine Heredia (as Angel Dumott Schunard) and Jesse L. Martin (as Tom Collins) singing "I'll Cover You" during the 10th year anniversary of the show. This one's my favorite number ;-)

10 things after the Sinulog '08 Grand Parade. 1.) The "Pit" in the greeting, "Pit Senor!" is a contraction of the word "sampit," which means to beckon. It could also refer to the burger-like smell of a crowd grinding through the overpass to get to the other side of the road. 2.) Do not bring your fancy camera to the streets unless you're joining the photography competition. 3.) Do not join the photography competition. 4.) Praise yourself for bringing along an umbrella, wet tissues and a sense of humor. 5.) Have mind-blowing SEX-- Sinangag EXpress! 6.) Invite strangers and old high school batch mates. Mix well. Garnish with gourmet pretzels and a lots of alcohol. 7.) Sing Renaldo Lapuz's "Brothers Forever." Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. 8.) Mingle with fellow 'fine artists.' 9.) Take a powernap in your bedless room. 10.) Chowking!!!

Poem FRANK O’HARA Lana Turner has collapsed! I was trotting along and suddenly it started raining and snowing and you said it was hailing but hailing hits you on the head hard so it was really snowing and raining and I was in such a hurry to meet you but the traffic was acting exactly like the sky and suddenly I see a headline LANA TURNER HAS COLLAPSED! there is no snow in Hollywood there is no rain in California I have been to lots of parties and acted perfectly disgraceful but I never actually collapsed oh Lana Turner we love you get up |
