I have a raket. I write descriptions for menu items. Being a foodie comes in handy.
Here's the rub: I don't mind revising my work, but when the higher-up tells me the phrase "crispy and juicy chicken" is "literary," I feel the sudden urge to shoot a hamster. Or just laugh. Jesus Christ. But glee. Philosophy grades were posted today, and I got an okay grade.

Say it with me (in the Conan O'Brien fashion of saying "jewelry"): new layout. Art by Randall Munroe of xkcd.com. I mean, I'm not good at Math but I get it. I Digg too much, and so should you.
Before this I spent my early afternoon figuring out where a certain building was for a certain interview for a certain somethingship. I arrived an hour early (wow) so I went to Jollibee and stared at a Sarah Geronimo poster. Girl can sing. I could tell by just looking at her mouth. Yeah. I wanted to get those cupcakes but it was still early and shop opens at 3. So I walked around and realized I still can't speak Tagalog. Or Filipino. Har. Decided to go home. How could I forget the ube roll from Julie's... I am happy because I won't have to move out of my place after all (thanks Ma), Pa is coming over next month (I need a new bag thing, right shoulder's dying), and am done with Drama Workshop.

![]() Completed my 12 hours as a jeepney barker in Philcoa today. Despite the weather, my "UPeh" felt more sincere. I miss riding 04C/04L/13C--the place to be! More things to finish over the weekend. If we hold on together, I know our dreams will never die. LAHOS!

Bought a box of vegetarian cupcakes from Halo (Heavenly D'Lites) in Cubao Shoe Expo. Absolutely loved the (I think) almond cream-ish frosting. Thirty pesos each, photo mine.
Was there because of Jacque's 22nd birthday party. Had dinner at Bellini's and tea at Happy Turtle. Future husband, propose marriage to me there. I'm going back to get another box of cupcakes and maybe cookies and those rainbow bandages. Jouissance!

A Literary Recital Honoring the Humanities February 6, 2008 I read "A Law student answers an exam", "Puso", and "My Father's Dye".

Please let there be a mistake in the school calendar. It says that finals week will be right after Holy Week. WHAT. Good Friday is when you sit at home, eat binignit and listen to the siete palabras on the AM radio. You can't study. Christ is dying.
I leave you with Lawrence Ypil's "The other" from his article in Sun.Star Weeend, dog ears in the wrong notebook. MORE AND MORE I’ve been finding myself repeatedly apologizing for writing in English. Not that Cebuanos find it difficult to forgive this traitor of the tongue (I think we’ve always considered English the lesser enemy anyway, compared to Tagalog). Or that I have found myself suddenly waking up on the right side of the bed in a world where overnight the vernacular tongue had (in a surprise upset) suddenly won over years of colonial mentality and become the official language of political clout and economic power—despite the burgeoning call centers filled with all the unfortunately required faux Midwestern accents, testament to English’s bright (and blinding) future in our financial landscape.

Am now preparing for my PH102 midterm oral exam this Thursday, 8:40 am. Wish me luck. And strength for the rest of the day. In the afternoon I'll be in Philcoa for my JEEP immersion.
Friday, Gorm will arrive from Cebu. With CNT lechon! |
